Police: Wife stabs husband in chest in N.Ky.

WALTON, Ky. - A Northern Kentucky woman is behind bars after allegedly stabbing her husband in the chest.

The Boone County Sheriff's Department says 52-year-old Edna Mullins stabbed her husband, 56-year-old Steven Mullins, with a butcher knife during a domestic dispute around 7:15 p.m. Thursday night at their home in the 13000 block of Oakcreek Road in Walton.

Deputies had to track Edna down in the nearby woods after she ran from the residence following the incident.

Steven Mullins was transported to University Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Edna Mullins was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence with injuries she claimed she received from Steven.

Edna Mullins remains in the Boone County jail awaiting her arraignment. She is charged with assault.
