Ex-assistant coach pleads not guilty to sex abuse

RICHMOND, Ky. - A former high school assistant football coach has pleaded not guilty to sexually abusing a teen.

Joey J. Tate entered the plea Friday during an arraignment in Madison Circuit Court. The 34-year-old is a former assistant coach at Madison Southern High School.

Judge Jean C. Logue released Tate on bond with the conditions that he have no contact with the alleged victim, that he stay away from any school property and that he stay out of Madison County except to travel on public roadways or attend court hearings.
