LEXINGTON, Ky. - One of two inmates who escaped from the Blackburn Correctional Complex has been captured in central Kentucky.

Garrard County Sheriff Ronnie Wardrip says 23-year-old Christopher Melton was arrested Sunday night near Lancaster.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reports that deputies received a call about a car parked in a church parking lot, and when they arrived, two men got out of the car and ran.

Wardrip says Melton was caught but 21-year-old Tyler Roberts remains on the loose.

Melton was serving a six-year sentence for theft and fleeing police. He would have been eligible for parole in April.

Roberts was serving a 10-year sentence for burglary, theft, arson and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

He would have been eligible for parole in October 2013.
