Inmate bolts to freedom, wife scared

IRVINE, Ky. - Authorities are searching for an inmate who bolted from the Estill County, Ky. Jail.

WKYT-TV in Lexington reported Daniel Patterson was being escorted to a court appearance Wednesday when he escaped from a deputy jailer.

Kentucky State Police have joined the search for Patterson and jailers alerted police in Barbourville, where he has family members.

Patterson's wife, Candace Patterson, said she has lived in fear since her husband tried to run her down with his pickup truck on May 6.
