GREENUP, Ky. - A one-time corrections officer at the Greenup County Detention Center has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling drugs to inmates.

Greenup Circuit Judge Bob Conley handed down the time for 34-year-old Causetta Michelle Tackett, who pleaded guilty last month to first-degree drug trafficking and first-degree promoting contraband.

The Independent reported that before sentencing, Tackett apologized to the court and her former co-workers and asked Conley to consider placing her on probation.

Conley told Tackett he couldn't "in good conscience" grant her request because of the nature of her offense and the position she held.

Tackett and her husband, 37-year-old Charles Tackett, 37, were arrested in August

Charles Tackett has pleaded not guilty and his trial is scheduled for Oct. 8.
