RICHMOND, Ky. - A central Kentucky man and woman have been charged with capital murder in the disappearance and death of a woman in January.
A grand jury in Richmond charged 35-year-old Jason Singleton and 29-year-old Christina Tompkins Marcum in the death and dismemberment of Singleton's wife, 25-year-old Angela Frazier Singleton. Investigators found the woman's body in trash bags Jan. 19, about a week after she was last seen alive.
The Richmond Register quoted Marcum as telling state troopers that Jason Singleton described to her how he strangled his wife and burned her car.
Jason Singleton was arrested Jan. 20 after an armed standoff in Somerset where hostages were held at gunpoint.
Singleton remains in the Pulaski County Detention Center where he is being held without bond.
