Former assistant county attorney accused of murder

MONTICELLO, Ky. - A former assistant county attorney from southeastern Kentucky has been indicted on a murder charge following a wreck in which another person died.
WKYM in Monticello reports that a Wayne County grand jury returned the indictment Tuesday against 42-year-old Roderick A. Tejeda. Tejeda is a former assistant county attorney in Wayne County.
The wreck happened April 19 in Monticello and resulted in the death of 54-year-old Jerus Helen Neal of Monticello.
Special prosecutor Allen C. Trimble, the commonwealth's attorney in Whitley and McCreary counties, says the crash happened in a 35 mph zone but that Tejeda was allegedly traveling in excess of that.
