LA GRANGE, Ky. - A former police officer charged with sending sexually explicit text messages to a juvenile has been accused of tampering with public records in a separate case.
The Courier-Journal reports that Shane Mosley is charged with making false statements and omitting or misrepresenting facts in relation to a Sept. 15 arrest.
Mosley resigned from the Oldham County Police Department after being charged last month with using electronic means to induce a minor to engage in sexual or other prohibited activities; official misconduct; and unlawful transaction with a minor.
The new charges relate to an incident in which Mosley arrested Billy Stotts Jr., who was identified as a deputy U.S. marshal, on a charge of drunken driving. Police didn't say what the alleged false statements were.
It was unclear Thursday whether Mosley had an attorney.
