FRANKFORT, Ky. -
Franklin County Circuit Judge Phillip Shepherd ordered the secretary of state not to implement the newly redrawn legislative districts, forcing several lawmakers facing re-election this year to file another round of candidacy papers to run in former districts.
Republican state Rep. David Floyd said Wednesday he intends to file candidacy papers for the third time in little more than a month.
House Speaker Greg Stumbo said he expects Shepherd's ruling to be appealed to the Kentucky Supreme Court. If the high court overturns Shepherd, it could mean yet another round of filings.
