BRANDENBURG, Ky. - Kentucky State Police say a 21-year-old man is facing a drunken-driving charge following a weekend crash in Meade County that resulted in a teenager's death.
State police say 16-year-old Courtney B. Horsley of Paynesville died Saturday night, according to The Courier-Journal.
Police say Horsley was riding in the middle of the front seats of a pickup truck driven by Adam J. Hall of Webster. Hall suffered minor injuries, as did another passenger.
Police say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, and Hall was charged with driving under the influence. They say other charges could be pending.
Authorities say the truck was traveling eastbound on Kentucky 376 when Hall reached for a cell phone, swerved, over-corrected and traveled down an embankment. Horsley and Hall were ejected.
