STURGIS, Ky. - Thousands of motorcyclists will be roaring into western Kentucky this week for the Kentucky Bike Rally.
The rally Thursday through Sunday in Union County.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says the event is expected to draw 15,000 or more motorcycle enthusiasts to the county fairgrounds in Sturgis, population 2,030, and advises motorists to be alert to the extra traffic.
Major routes such as U.S. 60 and Kentucky highways 109, 56 and 91, as well as Illinois Route 13, will likely see increased motorcycle traffic. The cabinet says rally participants also often cruise nearby back roads while attending the event.
