LEXINGTON, Ky. - A film team making a documentary about the Carroll County bus crash that killed 27 people plans to re-enact the crash this weekend as it prepares the film for release next year.
The church bus was returning to Radcliff, Ky. after an outing to Kings Island in 1988 when the vehicle collided with a pickup truck being driven the wrong way on Interstate 71 by a drunken driver.
Larry Mahoney, the driver of the pickup, spent nearly 11 years in prison for what was the nation’s worst drunken-driving accident.
