CINCINNATI - Still reeling from the death of his ex-wife Whitney Houston, Bobby Brown canceled his appearance with the band New Edition at U.S. Bank Arena scheduled for Tuesday night. However, the concert will go on without him.

A spokesperson for U.S. Bank Arena learned late Tuesday afternoon that Brown would not be performing. Many fans did not expect Brown to show up for the Cincinnati show, which begins at 8 p.m.

Houston, 48, died Saturday at a Beverly Hills hotel after being found unresponsive in a bathtub.

Brown tried to perform with the band Saturday night, only hours after learning of Houston's death. He was only able to perform a part of a song before being overcome with emotion.

Brown told fansĀ  that he loved them and Houston too before leaving the stage. He then left to care for the couple's 18-year-old daughter.

The cause of Houston's death remains under investigation.
