CINCINNATI - A motorcyclist led police on a chase on I-75 Tuesday that eventually caused officers to use a Taser on him.
Police say 26-year-old John Cook of Cincinnati was speeding on I-75 in a construction Tuesday afternoon and when officers tried to pull him over, he refused to stop. Cook was going 67 mph in a 45 mph construction zone on his motorcycle, officials said.
Cook allegedly weaved in and out of traffic and accelerated in an attempt to avoid officers. He then pulled off at Tennessee Avenue and ran off on foot.
Cops eventually caught up with him and when he resisted arrest, they tried to use a Taser on him, but missed.
Despite the serious nature of the charges, Cook was booked and then released from the Hamilton County Justice Center due to overcrowding there.
Officials have not released any additional information about the crime.
