CINCINNATI - A 16-year-old boy is in police custody for allegedly sending text messages to other students indicating he was going to bring a gun to Amelia High School on Thursday.

The investigation began when two students notified school authorities that they had received the threatening messages just before 10 a.m. School officials then alerted the Clermont County Sheriff's Department who immediately responded to the school on Clough Pike.

The sheriff's department said charges will be filed in juvenile court. The teen's name has not been released due to his age.

Security was increased at the school as a precautionary measure. Earlier in the day the sheriff's office said no evidence had been discovered nor anything that supported the message.

Students were dismissed at usual time.

Police have not released any other information at this time.
