HAMILTON, Ohio - A Hamilton man is facing charges after police say he struck a police cruiser in line at a Taco Bell drive-thru.

Hamilton police say Donald Meyer, 46, rear-ended the cruiser at the Taco Bell at 819 High Street around 5:45 p.m. Friday.

The officer got out of his cruiser and observed that Meyer's eyes were bloodshot, according to police.

Meyer then told the officer that he had been up since 4 a.m., but had slurred speech and smelled like alcohol and marijuana, according to police.

When asked how much he had to drink, Meyer told the officer he had two beers at a house on his way home from work.

Meyer also told the officer he had smoked marijuana about an hour before the incident.

Police say the officer discovered a burned marijuana cigarette, a bag believed to be marijuana and xanax inside Meyer's vehicle.

Meyer is charged with OVI and drug abuse.
