GREEN TWP, Ohio - A vehicle crashed into a Green Township grocery store causing damage to the business and a gas line Tuesday morning.
Police say 55-year-old Marie Conners was attempting to back out of parking space at Hatting's Supermarket, 6148 Bridgetown Road when the vehicle went into drive and hit the building around 8:15 a.m. Conners, who was driving a 2007 BMW, also struck a gas main attached to the building, according to police.
The store was evacuated for a short time to allow Green Township Fire Department to ventilate the building of any residual gas. There were no injuries from the accident and the damage to the business is not severe, according to police.
Hatting's Supermarket will open for business later Tuesday.
Officials say the believe the vehicle had a mechanical problem, which led to the crash. Conners was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Officials have not released any additional details about the crash or the estimated cost of damage.
