Freshman defender Olivia Panella scored in the third round of sudden-death penalty kicks as Conner edged Boone County, 3-2 in the 33rd District semifinal on Wednesday at Beechwood.

Cougars sophomore Jessica Fraiture made three saves on eight shots in PKs, including one in the beginning of the third sudden-death round, setting up Panella’s decisive shot.

It was Fraitures’ first career win in penalty kicks.

Senior forward Cori Storms gave Conner the lead in the fifth minute off a feed from freshman midfielder Carly Noel.

The Rebels scored twice in the first half to take a one-goal lead, but Cougars’ sophomore midfielder Kierra Dages tied the score on a shot into the left corner of the net four minutes into the second half.

Conner will play Ryle in the district final at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

HALFTIME: Boone County, 2-1. GOALS: C—Storms, Dages. BC—Mersmann, Lehmkuhl. RECORDS: Conner 9-8-1, Boone County 9-12-1.

RYLE 1, COOPER 0 – Senior forward Elise Duggins scored midway through the first half in the Raiders’ win in a 33rd District semifinal at Cooper.

Duggins gave Ryle the lead off a feed from her sister – sophomore forward Lauren Duggins.

The Raiders will play Conner at 7 p.m. on Wednesday in the district championship game.

HALFTIME: 1-0. GOAL: R—E. Duggins. SHUTOUT: Miller (5 saves). RECORDS: Ryle 11-5-2, Cooper 6-7-2.

NOTRE DAME 2, BEECHWOOD 0 – Sophomore striker Mandy Arnzen and senior forward Ellie Eckerle scored the Pandas’ goals in a 35th District semifinal at Beechwood.

Arnzen scored off a corner kick that was redirected off the head of senior defender Jamie Bramlage halfway through the second half.

Eckerle extended Notre Dame’s lead with six minutes left off a feed from Arnzen at the top of the box.

The Pandas will play Holy Cross, which beat Covington Latin, 5-2, in the district final at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

HALFTIME: 0-0. GOALS: ND—Arnzen, Eckerle. SHUTOUT: Voskuhl (2 saves). RECORDS: Notre Dame 18-2-1, Beechwood 7-8-1.

HOLY CROSS 6, COVINGTON LATIN 2 – Senior forward Madyson Moran scored three goals to pace the Indians in a District 35 semifinal at Beechwood.

Seniors Kelsey Aerni and Grace Herrman and junior Ari Chiarelli added goals for Holy Cross, which will play Notre Dame in the district final at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

GOALS: HC—Moran 3, Herrman, Aerni, Chiarelli. RECORDS: Holy Cross 8-8-2, Covington Latin 9-9.

CAMPBELL COUNTY 4, SCOTT 0 – The match was scoreless at the half, but the Camels scored three goals in the first 4:30 of the second half in a District 37 semifinal at Scott.

Junior midfielder Lauren Macke netted back-to-back goals 1:30 and 3:20 into the second half, and senior fullback Shelby Davis made it 3-0 1:10 after Macke’s second goal.

Sophomore Bryanna Schroers turned four shots aside in Campbell County’s 11th shutout of the season.

The Camels will play Brossart at 6:15 on Thursday in the district final.

HALFTIME: 0-0. GOALS: CC—Macke 2, Davis, Robinson. SHUTOUT: Schroers (4 saves). RECORDS: Campbell County 12-7-2, Scott 8-9-3.

SIMON KENTON 5, WALTON-VERONA 0 – Junior Natalie Meyer stopped five shots to earn her first shutout of the season in the semifinals of the District 32 tournament at Walton-Verona.

Senior forwards Samanth McNamera and Lindsay Landrum, as well as freshman defender Karley Abel scored first-half goals to give the Pioneers’ a three-goal lead.

Simon Kenton will face Grant County in the 32nd District final at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

HALFTIME: 3-0. GOALS: SK—McNamara, Landrum, Abel, Morris, Fulmer. SHUTOUT: Meyer (5 saves). RECORDS: Simon Kenton 6-10-1, Walton-Verona 4-16.

BROSSART 10, CALVARY CHRISTIAN 0 – Junior midfielder Cori Ziegler scored three goals and added an assist for the Mustangs in a 37th District semifinal at Scott.

Senior defender Rachel Hartig added a goal and two assists, and junior midfielder Megan Dierig found the net twice in the win for Brossart.

The Mustangs will face Campbell County at 6:15 on Thursday for the district championship.

HALFTIME: 7-0. GOALS: B—Ziegler 3, Dierig 2, Greis, Hasl, Greely, Hartig, Linebach. SHUTOUT: Ledonne and Futscher (0 saves). RECORDS: Brossart 15-5-1, Calvary Christian 3-9-2.

ST. HENRY 1, VILLA MADONNA 0 – Senior forward Libby Leedom scored the lone goal of the match in a 34th District semifinal at Dixie Heights.

The goal for Leedom was her 19th of the season, and senior goalkeeper Morgan Potts recorded her 12th shutout of the year and fourth straight.

The Crusaders will play Dixie Heights in the district championship at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

GOAL: SH—L. Leedom. SHUTOUT: Potts. RECORDS: St. Henry 14-4-2, Villa Madonna 10-9-1.

DIXIE HEIGHTS 10, LUDLOW 0 – Senior midfielder Ali Critcher netted three goals in the Colonels’ District 34 semifinals win at Dixie Heights.

Seniors forward Anna Crosthwaite and midfielder Chrissy Wolking added two tallies each for Dixie Heights.

Senior midfielder Ashley Meek, who has battled injuries all season, scored her first goal of

the season for the Colonels, who will face St. Henry in the district final at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

HALFTIME: 5-0. GOALS: DH—Critcher 3, Crosthwaite 2, Wolking 2, Meek, Nemeroff. SHUTOUT: Snyder (1 save). RECORDS: Dixie Heights 12-5-1, Ludlow 6-9.
