Sophomore center Drew McDonald’s stick-back off a missed free throw with just over a minutes remaining iced Newport Central Catholic’s 68-64 win over Campbell County on Saturday.
McDonald finished with a career-high 27 points, including 11 in the first quarter.
Senior forward Michael Bueter added 13 points, and junior forward Jake Schulte chipped in nine points and nine rebounds for the Thoroughbreds.
Junior guard Corey Holbrook paced the Camels with 27 points.

Castleman scored six of his points in the second quarter to help the Eagles establish a 33-point halftime lead.
