Senior forward Leah Schaefer scored her 1,000th point as Highlands beat Dixie Heights, 64-30 on Tuesday.
Schaefer hit a pair of free throws in the third quarter for her final points, giving her 14 for the game and exactly 1,000 for her career. She is the 13th player in Bluebirds’ girls’ basketball history to reach that threshold.
Senior guard Vanessa Fisse came off the bench to add 11 points for Highlands, including nine in the second half.
Sophomore center Liza Tibbs led the Colonels with nine points.

BEECHWOOD 57, CALVARY CHRISTIAN 39 – Tigers freshman guard Macy Stuempel scored 12 points in the third quarter to help seal the game.
Stuempel, who hit all three of her 3-pointers in that period, finished with a game-best 18 points and added four steals and a pair of assists.
Eighth-grade guard Ally Johnson chipped in 12 points for Beechwood, and freshman guard Olivia Stokes rolled up 10 points, six rebounds and five assists.
Calvary Christian senior guard McKenzie Rusch posted a team-high 14 points.
