Bueter, McDonald help 'Breds hold off Dixie

   Senior guard Michael Bueter and sophomore center Drew McDonald hit five straight free throws as Newport Central Catholic held off Dixie Heights, 65-63 on Wednesday.

   Bueter knocked down five foul shots in the fourth quarter and went 4-for-4 late, and McDonald added three more from the charity stripe. Bueter led the Thoroughbreds with 23 points, and McDonald finished with 19.

   Colonels junior guard Brandon Hatton tied a career high with 35 points, including eight 3-pointers. He scored 17 in the fourth quarter, and had 15 consecutive Dixie Heights points during the third and fourth quarters.

   BROSSART 65, ST. HENRY 58 – Senior guard Ben Uebel went 4-for-4 from the foul line in the fourth quarter to help the Mustangs pull away.

   Senior guard Justin Saunders led Brossart with 20 points, junior center Drew Burns added 16 and Uebel poured in 12.

   St. Henry junior forward Jordan Noble led all scorers with 21 points.

   SCOTT 97, SILVER GROVE 26 – Eagles senior forward Nick Jackson led all scorers with 15 points, including 11 in the second quarter.

   Senior forward Pete Ohmer added 11 points for Scott, six of which came in the opening frame.
