   Senior guard Tamra Holder’s stick-back off a missed free throw in the final minute iced Holmes’ 64-59 win over Cooper in the Dixie Heights Invitational on Thursday.

   Holder finished with a game-high 26 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter.

   Holmes senior guard Jaynice Stovall scored all six of her points in the final frame, during which the Bulldogs erased a five-point deficit.

   Senior guard Andrea Thompson led Cooper with 23 points.

   VILLA MADONNA 52, DEMING 38 – Blue Lightning junior guard Alex Hengge ran off eight straight second-half points to put the game out of reach at the Bracken County Tip-Off Classic.

   The Devils had cut the lead to four late in the third quarter before Hengge’s run. Hengge finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

   Senior guard Allie Hennard led Villa Madonna in scoring with 14 points, and she recorded three steals.

   Senior center Morgan Case and freshman guard Lexie Aytes also reached double figures for the Blue Lightning. Case tallied 10 points and nine rebounds, and Aytes chipped in 10 points and six boards.

   Villa Madonna will play Bracken County at 8 p.m. on Friday.

   HOLY CROSS 57, ST. HENRY 31 – Indians senior guard DeAsia Beal scored 10 of her game-high 18 points during the decisive second quarter at the Dixie Heights Invitational.

   Sophomore center Ally Mayhaus added 16 points for the Indians in their season opener.

   Senior guard Kelly Coburn led the Crusaders with 11 points.

   CAMPBELL COUNTY 89, SILVER GROVE 13 – Four Camels established personal career single-game scoring records.

   Freshman guard Kylie Kramer led all scorers with 18 points, her best total at the varsity level, and junior guard Ciara Mergard scored nine of her career-high 11 points in the first quarter.

   Sophomores guard Carson Gray and forward Carley Futscher also established net career marks. Gray poured in seven points in the first quarter and finished with 11, and Futscher rolled up eight, including a pair of 3-pointers.

   Seventh-grade guard Alexis Stapleton added 13 points for Scott, including eight in the opening period.

   Sophomore guard Tori Wofford finished with a team-high eight points for the Panthers.
