Trailing at the half, Boone County surged after the break to hold on for a four-point win over Walton-Verona, 51-47 Friday.
Boone County was led by sophomore Macey Ford's career-high 17 points and Jessica Jones tallied her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds, the the Rebels overcame a sterling performance from Walton-Verona's Courtney Sandlin.
The senior forward scored 26 to lead all scorers.

BELLEVUE 49, NEWPORT 45 — The Ladycats survived a late run by Newport, aided by a basket scored for them by the other team, to hold on for the win.
Senior Jennifer Sexton scored 13 points and had eight rebounds, while freshman Makayla Bishop added 13 points, four assists and five steals to help Bellevue open the season with a win.
Newport was led by Debbie Kroth's 10 points, while underclassmen Katlyn Hoeh and Shaunye Stanley added nine apiece in the losing effort.

CONNER 69, ST. PATRICK 35 — Jordan Scott scored 14 points and added 10 rebounds as the Lady Cougars rolled to a 2-0 start over St. Patrick.
Conner jumped out to a quick lead, and took a 30-point buffer into the locker room at the half. Junior center Maddie Meyers also added 12 to the winning effort, as St. Patrick senior McKayla Meyers tried to keep the Lady Saints in the game with 17 points of her own.

HOLMES 52, DIXIE HEIGHTS 45 — Holmes rallied in the second quarter as Dixie had trouble taking care of the ball, then held on for the win to more to 2-0 on the season and advance to Saturday's final of the Dixie Heights Invitational.
The Bulldogs were boosted by 13 points from junior Deena Kilburn and 11 from senior guard Tamra Holder, while Dixie got a strong performance from Liza Tibbs. The sophomore center tallied 17 points to lead the Lady Colonels.
