Senior guard Andrew Sampson set a school record by hitting seven straight 3-pointers in Simon Kenton’s 67-53 win over Oldham County on Tuesday.
Sampson drained his first seven treys, all in the first half and five in the first quarter as the Pioneers took a 14-point lead into the break.
Sampson finished 8-for-10 from behind the arc.
Senior guard Riley Barnes added 11 points for Simon Kenton, which won its sixth straight game.

HOLMES 59, MASON COUNTY 50 – Senior guard Daquan Palmer and junior forward Quinton Chames tallied 16 points each for the Bulldogs.
Chames also grabbed 11 rebounds for Holmes, which extended its winning streak to 19.
Bulldogs sophomore guard scored 15 points before fouling out with 3:56 remaining, and senior forward Chris Englemon picked up the slack, netting all seven of his points in the fourth quarter to ice the game.

Junior guard Landon Lamblez led Conner with 19 points, and Barker added 17.

NEWPORT 88, LUDLOW 44 – Wildcats senior forward Jasean Short scored 22 of his 26 points in the first half in a Region 9 All ‘A’ quarterfinal at Bellevue.
Short scored 12 points in the first quarter and 10 more in the second – including eight straight Newport points.
Junior guard Jaquan Short added 16 points for the Wildcats, pouring in seven in the opening period and seven in the third stanza.
Junior guard Mitchell Cody led the Panthers with 18 points.
