Senior forward Chris Englemon hit a free throw with 3.6 seconds remaining as Holmes extended its winning streak to 20 by edging Scott, 60-59 on Thursday.
The Eagles led much of the game, and Scott junior forward Kameron Crim hit a basket with 1:09 left in regulation to tie the score at 59.
Senior guard Daquan Palmer led Holmes with 22 points, including all three of the Bulldogs’ treys. Sophomore guard James Bolden added 14 points, and chipped in 12 and junior forward Quinton Chames finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Senior forward Nick Jackson paced the Eagles with 19 points, and Crim and senior guard Josh Felts rolled up 10 each. Crim also grabbed nine rebounds.

HIGHLANDS 56, CAMPBELL COUNTY 52 – Junior guard Drew Houliston hit six of the Bluebirds 14 fourth-quarter free throws to hold off the Camels.
Senior forward Luke Turner led Highlands with 22 points, and Houliston added 14.
Junior guard Corey Holbrook racked up 21 points for Campbell County.

COVINGTON CATHOLIC 63, ELIZABETHTOWN 53 – Junior guard Nick Ruthsatz and senior guard Nick Fredrick combined for 15 third-quarter points for the Colonels at the Scott County Classic.
Ruthsatz tied a game high with 20 points, including eight in the decisive third period. Fredrick added 14 points.
CovCath committed 27 fouls, but Elizabethtown hit just 16-of-29 free throws. The Colonels finished 11-for-14 from the foul line.
CovCath will play in a semifinal at 9 p.m. on Friday.
