Lehmkuhl hits clutch FTs for Crusaders

   Sophomore guard Karly Lehmkuhl hit two free throws in the final seconds to lift St. Henry to a 33-32 win over Dixie Heights on Friday.

   The Colonels had taken their only lead of the game, 32-31 prior to Lehmkuhl’s clutch foul shots.

   Lehmkuhl led St. Henry with seven points, and sophomore center Savannah Neace grabbed six rebounds, blocked three shots and held Dixie Heights sophomore center Liza Tibbs to just five points.

   St. Henry finishes district play 4-0 and clinches a No. 1 seed.

   SIMON KENTON 66, NOTRE DAME 59 – Junior guard Christina Cook was 4-for-4 from the foul line in the final minutes to ice the game for the Pioneers.

   Cook led all scorers with 20 points, and she grabbed five rebounds, dished for four assists and stole the ball three times.

   Senior forward Paige Bosse added 16 points and six rebounds for Simon Kenton, which won its 12th straight game.

   Junior forward Carlee Clemons led the Pandas with 16 points.

   SCOTT 77, CAMPBELL COUNTY 72 – Junior guard Jill Buntin scored eight fourth-quarter points and sophomore guard Jenna Trimpe hit a pair of late free throws to seal the game for the Eagles.

   Trimpe finished with a team-high 18 points, and Buntin and seventh-grade guard Alexis Stapleton added 13 points each. Stapleton also recorded five steals.

   Camels senior center Kaitlin Siegmundt led all scorers with 21 points, and she grabbed 10 rebounds.

   COOPER 60, BOONE COUNTY 47 – Senior guard Andrea Thompson hit 7-of-10 free throws in the second half in the Jaguars’ win.

   Thompson finished with a team-high 14 points, and junior guard Katie Pittman added 12 for Cooper, which earned its first district win.

   The Rebels were led by sophomore guard Alexis Switzer’s 14 points.

   Freshman guard Makayla Bishop poured in 11 points, and eighth-grade guard Courtney Ross and senior forward Jennifer Sexton tallied 10 points each for Bellevue, which snapped a four-game losing streak.

   Ludlow sophomore guard Tori Wofford led all scorers with 21 points, and senior forward Emily Kroger chipped in 10 points and 11 rebounds.

52, HERITAGE 16 – Blue Lightning junior center Maria Blom poured in a season-high 11 points in her third game back from a knee injury.

   Freshman guard Lexie Aytes and senior guard Allie Hennard added eight points each for Villa Madonna, which had 11 players score and 15 players log playing time. Aytes also dished for a pair of assists and grabbed three rebounds.
