   Junior guard Christina Cook hit a pair of free throws with a minute remaining to seal Simon Kenton’s 62-53 win over Walton-Verona on Saturday.

   Pioneers junior guard Abby Owings was 7-for-9 from the foul line in the second half and led all scorers with 25 points. Owings also dished for six assists and stole the ball seven times.

   Cook added 13 points, four rebounds and three steals, and junior forward Rachel Cox blocked four shots as Simon Kenton won its 13th straight game.

   HOLMES 66, BEECHWOOD 46 – Senior guard Tamra Holder tallied 18 points, and sophomore guard Deja Turner notched 15 to key the Bulldogs’ win.

   Both poured in six points in the fourth quarter to help put the game away.

   The Tigers were led by freshman guard Macy Stuempel’s 15 points.

   NOTRE DAME 62, COOPER 21 – Senior forward Olivia Voskuhl recorded a game-high 19 points for the Pandas, including 15 in the first half and nine in the opening quarter.

   Junior forward Avery Henderson added 10 points for Notre Dame, which avenged its first home loss of the season on Friday vs. Simon Kenton with its widest margin of victory of 2012-13.

   Junior guard Paige Ross led the Jaguars with eight points.

   NICHOLAS COUNTY 67, PENDLETON COUNTY 63 – Senior forward Reesa Martin drained two foul shots in the final minute to ice to game for the Bluejackets.

   Senior guard Bradi Boden, junior forward Taylor McClanahan and sophomore guard Isabella Hall all finished with 12 points to pace the Wildcats.

   NEWPORT 41, EMINENCE 27 – Freshman forward Shaunye Stanley scored six points during the decisive third quarter as the Wildcats opened up a 16-point lead.

   Freshman guard Kylie Orr led Newport with 11 points, and Stanley finished with 10.
