Senior forward Courtney Sandlin hit the game-winning layup in the closing seconds as Walton-Verona edged Notre Dame, 42-40 on Tuesday.
Sandlin, who scored six points in the final stanza to help the Bearcats erase a three-point lead, took a pass from junior guard Shelby Sandlin on an out-of-bounds play and hit the go-ahead shot with 1.6 seconds left in regulation.
Sandlin led all scorers with 18 points, and senior center Michele Judy added 13 – seven of which came in the fourth quarter.
Junior guard Elly Ogle and senior forward Olivia Voskuhl led the Pandas with 10 points each.

Junior guard Nicole Schowalter paced the Greendevils with 11 points, and sophomore guard Sadie Boles added nine.
Senior forward Jennifer Sexton scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds for Bellevue, and freshman Makayla Bishop chipped in 13 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and six steals.

COOPER 46, LLOYD 30 – Junior forward Savannah Brinneman scored seven points in the third quarter to help the Jaguars extend their four-point halftime lead to 16.
Senior guard Andrea Thompson netted four of her 12 points in the first quarter for Cooper, which jumped out to an early 12-point lead.
Brinneman also finished with 12 points.
Juggernauts senior guard Shelby Rudd led all scorers with 15 points.

Senior forward Jordan Scott tallied a game-high 15 points and 10 rebounds for Conner, giving her six double-doubles in the Cougars’ first seven games.
Pluto finished with 11 points and junior center Maddie Meyers added 10.
