   Senior forward Nick Seibert led all scorers with 18 points – recording all of them in the first quarter – as Newport Central Catholic beat Boone County, 65-41 on Tuesday.

   Sophomore center Drew McDonald added 13 points and sophomore point guard Zach Pangallo chipped in 12 for the Thoroughbreds, who extended their season-opening winning streak to four games.

   Sophomore Brenden Stanley paced the Rebels with 12 points.

   NEWPORT 62, LLOYD 48 – The Short brothers combined for 14 points in the decisive third quarter for the Wildcats.

   Junior guard Jaquan Short scored eight points in that period, and senior forward Jasean Short added six in the frame.

   Jasean Short led all scorers with 22 points, and Jaquan Short finished with 14.

   Senior guard D’Andre Thompson rolled up a team-high 18 points for the Juggernauts.
