Junior forward Alex Trentman rolled up 18 points and five blocked shots as Brossart won its seventh straight game to open the season, topping Newport, 63-51 on Monday.
Juniors center Drew Burns added 17 points, and guard Erik Rieger chipped in 12 for the Mustangs. Burns was 5-for-6 from the foul line in the fourth quarter and Rieger sank all four of his free throw attempts.
