Junior forward Nicole Kiernan notched a triple-double, finishing with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 12 blocks as Newport Central Catholic beat Brossart, 65-55 on Monday.
Sophomore forward Alexus Mayes also scored 19 points for the Thoroughbreds, including seven during the decisive third quarter in which NewCath extended its lead to 16.
Mayes finished perfect from the foul line on seven attempts.
The Thoroughbreds bounced back after suffering their first loss of the season at Boone County on Friday.
Junior guard Madison Eisenman led all scorers with 20 points for the Mustangs, who had their four-game winning streak snapped.

NOTRE DAME 46, CINCINNATI SYCAMORE 40 – Senior forward Olivia Voskuhl and junior guard Paige Kellam hit a pair of free throws each in the final minute to seal it for the Pandas.
Voskuhl scored eight of her 20 points in the first quarter and the other 12 in the second half. She also grabbed eight rebounds.

SCOTT 65, SILVER GROVE 12 – Sophomore guard Megan Brennan led 13 Eagles scorers with 10 points.
Freshman guard Holly Kallmeyer and junior guard Jill Buntin added nine points each for Scott. Kallmeyer also rolled up six steals.
Junior guard Jessica Stamper scored all 12 of the Big Trains’ points on four 3-pointers.

Calvary Christian senior guard Kenzie Rusch led all scorers with 18 points. Rusch also hit 3-of-4 free throws in the fourth quarter to ice the game.
Senior forward Jennifer Sexton paced the Tigers with 15 points.
