Senior guard A.J. Collins hit the game-winning shot with time running out to lift Cooper to a 59-57 win over Ryle on Tuesday.

Collins pulled up and hit the game-winning fade-away jumper from just inside the 3-point line with 1.3 seconds left.

Raiders junior guard Tanner White had knocked down a trey with 30 seconds remaining to tie the score at 57.

Cougars senior forward Louis Maniacci finished with 27 points – 10 in the fourth quarter – 12 rebounds and four blocked shots.

Senior forward Mark Fussenegger paced Ryle with 19 points, all of which came in the second half and 14 were scored in the third quarter. Senior guard Drew Mays added 17 points for the Raiders.

CONNER 75, DIXIE HEIGHTS 61 – Cougars juniors forward Drew Barker and guard Landon Lamblez poured in seven points each in the fourth quarter to ice the game.

Barker finished with a game-high 26 points, and Lamblez added 12, hitting 5-of-6 free throws in the final period.

Junior forward Samuel Hemmerich chipped in 16 points for Conner, which snapped a four-game losing streak.

Junior guard Brandon Hatton notched a team-best 20 points for the Colonels, who had won their previous five games.

HOLMES 66, SIMON KENTON 57 – With the score tied at 54, the Bulldogs finished with game on a 12-3 run over the final three minutes.

Holmes sophomore point guard James Bolden scored 10 of his game-high 29 points in the fourth quarter, hitting all five of his free throw attempts.

Senior forward Chris Englemon added eight points and six rebounds in the final period alone for the Bulldogs, who won their 10th straight game. He finished with 15 points.

Simon Kenton was led by senior guard Andrew Sampson, who racked up 27 points.

CAMPBELL COUNTY 66, AMELIA (Ohio) 62 – The Camels scored the final four points of the game with time winding down in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore guard Blake Losey hit a shot to break the tie, and junior guard Corey Holbrook sank a pair of free throws in the final seconds to seal the game.

Holbrook finished with 31 points, including 19 in the third quarter. He hit all five of his 3-pointers in that stanza.

Senior guard Cody Pearson added 12 points, senior forward Jasean Short 11 and senior forward Arroyal Wright 10 for Newport.

Senior guard Andy Piccirillo led all scorers with 22 points, and eighth-grade guard Cole VonHandorf rolled up 21 in the losing effort for the Blue Lightning.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 58, LLOYD 28 – Thoroughbreds senior guard Michael Bueter scored 17 of his 23 points in the second quarter to blow the game open.

NewCath led by three after

the first period before Bueter caught fire. He went 4-for-4 from 3-point range in that frame as the Thoroughbreds extended their lead to 20 by halftime.

Junior center Jake Schulte added 15 points and eight rebounds as NewCath won its seventh straight game to open the season.

Senior guard Niko Carter scored 11 points for the Juggernauts.

BROSSART 69, CALVARY CHRISTIAN 30 – Junior forward Alex Trentman finished with a game-high 20 points – 10 in the first and third quarters – to pace the Mustangs.

Trentman also added five steals as Brossart extended its season-opening winning streak to eight games.

Junior guard Erik Rieger added nine points in the Mustangs’ win.

Senior forward Nick Whitt paced the Cougars with 15 points.

WALTON-VERONA 65, HENRY COUNTY 52 – Sophomore guard Grant Moeves set a career high with 27 points in the Bearcats’ win.

Moeves scored 10 points in the first quarter and had 16 by halftime, including all three of his 3-pointers.

Senior guard Chad Lucas helped seal it by hitting 11-of-14 free throws in the second half.
