Senior forward Courtney Sandlin hit all 10 of her free throws en route to scoring a game-high 22 points as Walton-Verona beat Holmes, 52-41 on Friday.
Sandlin knocked down four foul shots in the fourth quarter, and sophomore guard Alie Mills helped the Bearcats ice the game by scoring seven points in the final stanza.
Walton-Verona won its third straight game and snapped a three-game Bulldogs winning streak.

BOONE COUNTY 44, SOUTH OLDHAM 35 – Sophomore guard Macey Ford hit a 3-pointer with four minutes remaining to give the Rebels their first lead of the game in the Lady Dragon Hoop Fest at South Oldham.
Boone County senior forward Lauren McQueary converted a three-point play in the closing minutes to ice the game.
Ford matched a game high with 11 points.
The Rebels, who have won three straight games, will play in the tournament final at 8:15 p.m. on Saturday.

SIMON KENTON 71, MEADE COUNTY 59 – Juniors guard Abby Owings and forward Rachel Scott led the Pioneers with 18 points each at the Lexington Catholic Classic.
Cox, who scored eight of her points in the decisive third quarter, also grabbed eight rebounds and recorded three steals.
Simon Kenton senior Paige Bosse added six points and two blocks during the third period, and she finished with a game-high 13 boards.
The Pioneers will play Monroe County at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
