Senior guard Justin Saunders scored six points in overtime and a game-high 27 overall as Brossart edged Oldham County, 58-52 in overtime in the Bracken County Holiday Classic on Wednesday.
Saunders tallied the first four Mustangs points in the extra session, and his pair of free throws with four seconds left in regulation tied the score at 47, forcing OT. He finished 13-for-14 from the foul line.
Junior guard Jake Jennings racked up Brossart’s other five overtime points. He knocked down a pair of foul shots in the final minute of overtime to extend the Mustangs’ lead to four, sealing the game.
Senior guard Sam Gruber hit five 3-pointers and rolled up 22 points for the Colonels, who missed a potentially game-winning 3-pointer at the end of regulation.
Brossart will play Perry County Central at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

BOONE COUNTY 68, WEST CARTER 61 – Rebels guard Brenden Stanley scored 12 of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter in the first round of the Bracken County Holiday Classic.
Stanley finished with 18 points in the second half to help put the game away.
Senior forward Trev Patton added 18 points and nine rebounds for Boone County, which will face Louisville Iroquois at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

ANDERSON COUNTY 64, BEECHWOOD 49 – Junior Luke Mann and senior Jay Smith scored 16 points each in the Bearcats’ win at the Bracken County Holiday Classic.
Sophomore guard Jacob Huff led the Tigers with 15 points, and senior forward Chase Maus and freshman guard Kyle Fiegers added eight points each.
Beechwood will play host Bracken County at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday.
