Junior guard Brandon Hatton set the all-time Dixie Heights scoring record as the Colonels beat Oldham County, 58-45 in the Lexington Catholic Classic on Thursday.
Hatton hit a 3-pointer from the left wing to break the old mark of 1,879 points. He finished with a game-best 25 points, giving him 1,886.
The Colonels trailed by six at halftime, but Hatton scored 10 of his points in the third quarter to help Dixie Heights jump out to a 12-point lead.
The Colonels will play Scott at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

COVINGTON CATHOLIC 83, LUDLOW 45 – The Colonels made 13 3-pointers and shot 52 percent from behind the arc at the Lloyd Invitational Tournament.
Senior guard Nick Fredrick and junior guard Nick Ruthsatz both hit five treys, and junior guard Ben Heppler went 2-for-2 from deep.
Fredrick, who led all scorers with 21 points, poured in 13 in the second quarter. He went 5-for-7 from the field, including 3-of-5 from behind the arc in that stanza.
Ruthsatz added 17 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and four steals.

COOPER 64, LLOYD 34 – Senior forwards Louis Maniacci and Andrew Shelton led the Jaguars with 14 points each.
Junior guard Zachary McNeil added 13 points for Cooper, which won its fourth straight game.
Senior forward Jarice Ewell finished with a team-high 13 points, including four 3-pointers, for the Juggernauts.

Senior forward Brady Padgett added 16 points and junior forward Drew Barker chipped in nine for Conner, which won by its widest margin this season.

BOONE COUNTY 59, LOUISVILLE IROQUOIS 47 – Senior guard Matt Melzer hit 5-of-6 free throws in the fourth quarter to help the Rebels pull away at the Bracken County Holiday Classic.
Sophomore forward Brenden Stanley led Boone County in scoring with 20 points after pouring in just two in the opening period.
Junior forward Hunter Hixenbaugh added 13 points – nine in the first quarter – and grabbed nine rebounds for the Rebels.
Boone County, which is 2-0 in its pool, will play Augusta in its pool championship at 8:15 p.m. on Friday.
