Holmes ended all uncertainty early, pushing its lead to 21 points in the first quarter en route to claiming the title at the Rock Holiday Classic, beating Mars, Pa., 68-60, on Saturday night.
With the win, the Bulldogs remain unbeaten at 15-0.
Tournament MVP James Bolden fueled the Bulldogs' run to the title, scoring 18 of his game-high 27 points in the first half. Daquan Palmer, coming off a 22-point performance on Friday night in the semifinals, added 15 on Saturday, and Chris Englemon shipped in with 10. Both were named to the tournament's first team honors.
The Fighting Planets' Mitchel Buzard scored 20, while 6-8 center Josh Goetz scored 15 in the losing effort.

NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 80, ASHLAND BLAZER 61 — NewCath came from a 5-0 deficit at the start of the final of the Ashland Invitational, then ran past Blazer to take the win.
Michael Bueter's 19 points in the title game helped earned the senior tournament MVP honors, while sophomore Drew McDonald added another 19 to lead the Thoroughbreds to the win. Sophomore Zach Pangallo added 17 points.
McDonald, Pangallo and Jake Schulte were named to all-tournament honors.
Blazer, which connected on 10 three-pointers, was led by Nick Miller's 15 points.
