   Freshman forward Hailey Lillard hit two free throws with 1:01 left to lift Ludlow to a 41-40 win over Calvary Christian on Monday.

   The Cougars set up for a last-season shot but Panthers senior center Emily Kroger knocked the ball away as time expired.

   Kroger finished with a team-high 15 points, 15 rebounds and scored eight points in the fourth quarter as Ludlow erased a late nine-point deficit.

   CONNER 80, SCOTT 53 – Freshman guard Hunter Hendricks scored eight of her 14 points in the first quarter as the Cougars jumped out to an early 16-point lead.

   Senior forward Jordan Scott recorded her fourth straight double-double for Campbell County. She finished with a game-high 21 points – including five of the team’s 10 3-pointers – and she grabbed 14 rebounds.

   Junior center Maddie Meyers chipped in with 17 points for the Camels, who remained unbeaten.

   Seventh-grade guard Allyson Niece posted a team-high 12 points for Scott, which had its season-opening three-game winning streak snapped.

   VILLA MADONNA 43, COVINGTON LATIN 37 – Blue Lightning junior guard Alex Hengge hit 6-of-8 free throws in the fourth quarter to help seal the game.

   Hengge finished with a game-high 18 points, and she grabbed seven rebounds.

   Junior guard Alex Hennard hit a pair of free throws two minutes into the final fram to give Villa Madonna the lead for good, 33-32. Hennard hit all three of her 3-pointers in the second quarter and totaled 13 points for the game.

   CAMPBELL COUNTY 62, MASON COUNTY 55 – Senior guard Taylor Robinson scored eight of her 15 points in the fourth quarter to help the Camels hold off the Royals.

   Senior center Kaytlin Siegmundt led Campbell County with 18 points, including five in the final stanza, and senior forward Molly Kitchen added 11 points – four in the fourth period.

   HOLY CROSS 50, NEWPORT 31 – Sophomore center Ally Mayhaus scored eight points in the first quarter and 11 in the opening half to help the Indians take a 14-point lead into the locker room.

   Mayhaus led all scorers with 20 points, and her sister, sophomore forward Cessie Mayhaus added 10 points for Holy Cross, which remained unbeaten.

   Freshman guard Kylie Orr rolled up 12 points to lead Newport, which suffered its fourth straight loss.

   WALTON-VERONA 55, OWEN COUNTY 36 – Senior forward Courtney Sandlin scored seven of her game-high 23 points in the first quarter to help the Bearcats jump out to an early nine-point lead.

   Sandlin finished with 11 points in the first half and 12 after the break.

   Senior center Michele Judy added 14 points for Walton-Verona, which had not held any previous opponents under 40 points.
