Alexus Mayes scored a game-high 17 points, and Stephanie Lewis added 14, as NewCath earned a spot in Sunday's final of the Touchstone Energy All A Classic in Frankfort, defeating Bishop Brossart on Saturday.
The 'Breds won, 63-37. Brossart held Nicole Kiernan well below her scoring average, as the junior managed only eight points, but she did her damage elsewhere — she finished with 19 rebounds. Sarah Futscher led Brossart in scoring with 13 points.
NewCath will face Owensboro Catholic (15-5) in Sunday's final. Tipoff is at 12:30 p.m. It's NCC's third trip to the finals in the last four years. The 'Breds won the All A title in 2010. Last year, they fell to Walton-Verona in overtime, 38-36.

BOONE COUNTY 68, HOLMES 44 — Dallis Knotts was unstoppable from outside the arc, connecting on eight of 10 three-point attempts to push Boone County over Holmes.
Knotts, a junior, finished with a game-high 31 points followed by sophomore Alexis Switzer with 15 for the Rebels. The Lady Bulldogs got 16 points from Tamra Holder and 15 from Deja Turner in the loss.
