   Junior forward Nicole Kiernan hit a pair of free throws in the final minute to give NewCath a three-possession lead in a 53-51 win over Ryle on Wednesday.

   The Raiders finished the game by scoring six unanswered points in the final 20 seconds.

   Kiernan led the Thoroughbreds with 17 points. Sophomore forward Alexus Mayes added 10 and junior forward Stephanie Lewis chipped in nine as NewCath snapped a five-game skid.

   Raiders senior guard Dawn Johnson led all scorers with 19 points. Senior forward McKell Oliverio tallied 15 for Ryle, which trailed by as many as 15.

   BELLEVUE 45, EMINENCE 23 – Freshman guard Kira Ross led 10 Tigers scorers with 14 points and eight rebounds.

   Freshman guard Makayla Bishop tallied 10 points, seven rebounds and five steals, and eighth-grade guard Courtney Schmits scored seven points and stole the ball five times for Bellevue.

   NEWPORT 62, DAYTON 26 – Sophomore guard Katlyn Hoeh scored 12 points in the first quarter as the Wildcats led by 22 after the opening period.

   Hoeh finished with 16 points in the first half and a game-high 20 for the game.

   Freshman guard Kylie Orr rolled up 13 for Newport, which has won nine of its last 10 games.

   Sophomore guard Tyler Smith rolled up a team-high six points for the Panthers.
