Oliverio scores early, late to lift Raiders

   Senior forward McKell Oliverio hit a pair of late field goals to seal Ryle’s 55-50 win over Walton-Verona after the Bearcats had clawed to within two on Thursday.

   Oliverio scored 12 points in the first quarter, drilling all four of her 3-point attempts. She led all scorers with 22 points.

   Senior guard Dawn Johnson added 12 points and three steals for the Raiders, pulling her to within five steals of the school career record.

   Sophomore guard Allie Mills and senior center Michele Judy paced Walton-Verona with 12 points each.

   HIGHLANDS 55, SIMON KENTON 47 – Freshman guard Brianna Adler racked up a team-high 11 points, three rebounds and a pair of steals in the Bluebirds’ win.

   Senior forward Leah Schaefer tallied 10 points, seven assists, five rebounds and a pair of blocks as Highlands won its sixth straight game.

   Pioneers junior guard Christina Cook led all scorers with 15 points.

   Junior forward Rachel Cox recorded a double-double, finishing with 10 points, 10 rebounds and a pair of steals as Simon Kenton went 1-for-15 from behind the arc as it had its five-game win streak snapped.

   ST. HENRY 53, HOLMES 46 – Sophomore forward Karly Lehmkuhl went 4-for-4 from the free throw line down the stretch to ice the win for the Crusaders.

   St. Henry senior guard Kelly Coburn scored a game-best 15 points, including three late free throws.

   Sophomore center Savannah Neace grabbed eight rebounds and blocked four shots for the Crusaders, and junior forward Trisha Marks added 11 points and seven rebounds.

   Bulldogs sophomore guard Deja Turner led all scorers with 19 points.

   CAMPBELL COUNTY 85, COOPER 53 – Seniors center Kaytlin Siegmundt and guard Taylor Robinson combined for 17 first-quarter points as the Camels took an early 12-point lead and never looked back.

   Siegmundt led 11 Campbell County scorers with 17 points, and Robinson rolled up 16.

   Camels senior guard Molly Kitchen added 12 points, connecting on all four of her 3-point attempts. Campbell County knocked down 10 treys, and Cooper did not hit a shot from behind the arc.

   The Jaguars were led by senior guard Andrea Thompson’s 18 points.

   CALVARY CHRISTIAN 37, NEWPORT 30 – Junior guard Sarah Roaden led all scorers with 16 points as the Cougars won the Calvary Christian Classic.

   Roaden notched 11 of her points in the third quarter in the championship game, which was postponed two weeks ago because of snow.

   Senior guard Kenzie Rusch chipped in 13 points and senior center Zania Caudill grabbed nine rebounds for Calvary Christian, which snapped a four-game skid.

   Freshman Kylie Orr rolled up 14 points for the Wildcats.
