A trio of Holy Cross players had double-doubles — led by sophomore Abby Hassert's 18-point, 12-rebound night — as the Indians avenged an earlier loss to Newport Central Catholic with a 56-44 3 win Saturday.
Fellow sophomore Ally Mayhaus scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and senior Desia Beal added 11 points and 10 rebounds to the win. Hassert's 18 points was a career high.
Holy Cross blew open the game out-scoring NCC, 14-3, in the third quarter.
NewCath, which has now dropped three straight, was led by Nicole Kiernan's 15 points. The Thoroughbreds beat Holy Cross, 51-43, back on Jan. 9 in the All A Classic.

BELLEVUE 66, DAYTON 61 — Bellevue broke open a tight game in the fourth quarter, surging late to grab the win.
Senior Jennifer Sexton accounted for a third of the Tigers' scoring with a game-high 22 points. Freshman Kira Ross added 19 and Makayla Bishop 14 as Bellevue hit seven 3-pointers.
Aubry Donelan (14 points) and Nicole Schowalter (13) led Dayton, who had its losing streak extended to five games.
