Senior guard Ava Abner hit two free throws in overtime to seal Highlands’ 50-45 win over Woodford County on Wednesday.
Bluebirds senior forward Leah Schaefer hit a field goal from in close with 15 seconds left in regulation to force the extra period.
Senior center Jesse Daley led Highlands with 12 points, and Schaefer and freshman guard Brianna Adler added 11. Schaefer also grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Bluebirds have won eight of their last nine games.

BOONE COUNTY 52, CONNER 48 – Junior guard Dallis Knotts hit a pair of free throws with 54 seconds remaining to extend the Rebels’ lead to three.
Senior point guard Jessica Jones led Boone County in scoring with 22 points, hitting 9-of-18 shots from the field, and she chipped in eight rebounds, three steals and a pair of assists.
Knotts scored 11 of her 13 points in the third quarter, including all three of the Rebels’ 3-pointers.
Boone County avenged a 19-point loss to the Cougars earlier this season. The teams will face each other in a District 33 semifinal.
Senior forward Jordan Scott paced Conner with 18 points and 11 rebounds. She also banked in a trey late in the fourth quarter to cut the Rebels’ lead to one.

WALTON-VERONA 64, NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC 54 – Senior center Michele Judy scored 14 points in the decisive fourth quarter for the Bearcats.
Judy finished with a game-best 28 points – 19 in the second half – and 11 rebounds. Senior forward Courtney Sandlin added 21 points.
The Thoroughbreds were led by junior forward Nicole Kiernan’s 19 points.

HOLY CROSS 61, BEECHWOOD 44 – Senior guard DeAsia Beal and sophomore forward Ally Mayhaus paced the Indians with 20 points each.
Beal also grabbed eight rebounds, dished for seven assists and stole the ball five times. Mayhaus pulled down 11 boards as Holy Cross won its fourth straight game.
Junior forward Elizabeth Gieske finished with a team-high 15 points for the Tigers.

DIXIE HEIGHTS 53, VILLA MADONNA 33 – Sophomore center Liza Tibbs scored eight first-quarter points as the Colonels jumped out to an early 17-point lead.
Tibbs finished with a game-high 18 points, and she also tallied seven rebounds.
Junior guard Alexis Strong chipped in 17 points for Dixie Heights, including eight in the third period.
Senior forward Lauren Dumaine recorded 10 points for the Blue Lightning.

Seniors guard Taylor Robinson and guard/forward Molly Kitchen chipped in 12 points each for Campbell County. Kitchen hit all four of her free throw attempts.
