Senior scores 18 in Crusaders' win

   Senior guard Michael Best tallied 18 points, including 11 in second quarter to help give St. Henry a 19-point halftime lead in a 72-50 win over Newport on Thursday.

   Senior guard Darius Meiman added 14 points as the Crusaders won their third straight game.

   The Wildcats, who were 8-2 in their previous 10 games, were led by senior forward Jasean Short’s 15 points and 14 from his brother, junior guard Jaquan Short.

   HOLY CROSS 72, BEECHWOOD 57 – Senior guard Blake Tiberi led all scorers with 16 points in the Indians’ win.

   Tiberi netted eight points in the second quarter and five in the third, during which Holy Cross extended its three-point halftime lead to 12.

   Seniors guard Christian McClendon and center Antonio Campbell added 14 points each for the Indians.

   Senior guard Brandon Marksberry paced the Tigers with 15 points.

   CAMPBELL COUNTY 80, LUDLOW 51 – Senior forward Nate McGovney rolled up a game-high 14 points as the Camels won their fifth straight game.

   Sophomore guard Deandre Jackson and junior forward Luke Franzen added 11 points each for Campbell County, which had 12 players enter the scoring column.

   Panthers senior Chris Camarena had a team-best 12 points in a game that featured 19 3-pointers.

   ANDERSON COUNTY 62, OWEN COUNTY 50 – Freshman guard Carson Williams racked up a game-high 24 points and 17 rebounds in the losing effort for the Rebels.

   Senior guard Zach Ripy also reached double figures for Owen County, scoring 11 points.
