Junior right-hander Hannah Thacker struck out fourteen while allowing just one first-inning hit as Walton-Verona went on the road to defeat Paintsville, 9-0, Saturday.
Thacker only allowed a single to left with two outs in the first inning and did not walk any batters.
Junior first baseman Julann Ginn drove in three runs, including a pair with a double into the left-center field gap in the fourth inning.
Senior second baseman Kasey Troxel added an RBI double in the Bearcats two-run sixth inning.
Walton-Verona also held a second-inning lead against East Ridge before that game was canceled due to rain.
