   Senior Emerson Holladay scored the lone goal of Highlands’ 1-0 win over Covington Catholic on Thursday.

   Holladay put that goal in on a header 20 minutes into the first half to snap a seven-match unbeaten streak for the Colonels.

   Sophomore Nick Breslin stopped 10 shots en route to his sixth shutout of the season and his third in a row.

   Highlands has won three straight matches and is unbeaten in its last four.

   HALFTIME: 0-0. GOALS: H—Holladay. SHUTOUT: Breslin (10 saves). RECORDS: Highlands 9-6-2, CovCath 11-5-2.

   VILLA MADONNA 9, HOLMES 0 – Senior forward Marius VanMelle scored three goals and assisted on two others to pace the Blue Lightning.

   Senior forward Zach Kenney added two goals, and senior midfielder Luke Hantas scored a goal and dished for two assists for Villa Madonna, which has won four of its last five matches.

   HALFTIME: 6-0. GOALS: VM—VanMelle 3, Kenney 2, Lund, Espich, Rice, Hontas. SHUTOUT: Barton, Malone and Steinkoenig (8 saves). RECORDS: Villa Madonna 7-6-1, Holmes 3-15.

   SIMON KENTON 2, CAMPBELL COUNTY 1 – Seniors midfielder Cody Koch and striker Jon Arias found the net for the Pioneers.

   Koch gave Simon Kenton the lead 15 minutes into the match when he scored off a through ball from senior midfielder Mitchell O’Hara.

   Arias dribbled through traffic and knocked in his goal with 13 minutes remaining in the second half to extend the Pioneers’ lead to two.

   HALFTIME: Simon Kenton, 1-0. GOALS: SK—Koch, Arias. CC—Dumaine. RECORDS: Simon Kenton 9-6-2, Campbell County 0-12-1.

   BOONE COUNTY 3, PENDLETON COUNTY 1 – Junior midfielder Evan O’Hara scored all three of the Rebels’ goals.

   O’Hara netted two goals in the first 15 minutes of the match to put Boone County ahead, 2-0 early and he completed his hat trick with 15 minutes remaining in the second half.

   Senior forward Weston Blystone and sophomore forward Haven Borkowski picked up assists on the O’Hara goals.

   HALFTIME: 2-0. GOALS: BC—O’Hara 3. PC—Harper. RECORDS: Boone County 12-3-2, Pendleton County 7-10.

   CONNER 3, DIXIE HEIGHTS 0 – Juniors scored all three goals and accounted for the shutout in the Cougars’ win.

   Forward Alberto Aguirre gave Conner the lead three minutes into the second half, and midfielder Jake Fraiture pumped in shots at the 60- and 73-minute marks to seal it.

   Adrian Echeveste turned six shots aside to record his fifth shutout of the season.

   HALFTIME: 0-0. GOALS: C—Fraiture 2, Aguirre. SHUTOUT: Echeveste (6 saves). RECORDS: Conner 11-3-1, Dixie Heights 3-9-4.
