CINCINNATI - Despite the season coming to an end in Houston, Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton received some good news on Monday.
The rookie was named as the team's MVP by the Cincinnati Chapter of the Pro Football Writers of America.
Dalton is the first rookie to win the award in its 10-year history and is the third quarterback to win the award. Jon Kitna won in 2002 and 2003 and Carson Palmer won in 2005.
Safety Chris Crocker was tabbed as the "Good Guy" award winner. The award is given to the player for excellent relations with the media.
Former Bengals Willie Anderson, T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and Palmer are the only players to win both the MVP and the Good Guy awards.
