Highlands opened its season — customarily late — with an overtime win at home over St. Henry on Friday night.

The Bluebirds trailed late in regulation, but a late run was capped by senior guard Bailey Witte's layup with five seconds remaining to force overtime. Once there, they grabbed a lead and held on for the win over the 0-5 Crusaders.

Witte led Highlands with 19 points, while junior Drew Houliston added 13 to the win.

St. Henry, coming the closest yet to a win this season, was led by 17 points by Michael Best and 16 from Darius Meiman.
