   Freshman guards Macy Stuempel and Olivia Stokes combined for 26 first-half points for Beechwood in a 56-40 District 35 quarterfinal win at Beechwood on Monday.

   Stuempel scored 14 points in the first half and finished with a game-best 20. Stokes poured in all 12 of her points in the first two quarters.

   Beechwood will host Notre Dame at 6 p.m. on Tuesday in a semifinal.

   Senior point guard Allie Hennard added eight points and senior forward Lauren Dumaine grabbed eight rebounds as Villa Madonna advanced to the semifinals and will play St. Henry at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

   CALVARY CHRISTIAN 49, SILVER GROVE 15 – Senior guard Kenzie Rusch scored seven of her 11 points in the first quarter as the Cougars jumped out to an early 21-point lead in a 37th District quarterfinal at Campbell County.

   Senior center Zania Caudill led Calvary Christian with 12 points, six of which came in the opening period.

   Calvary Christian will play Brossart in a semifinal at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
