   Senior running back A.J. Collins ran for 263 yards and four touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter that helped Cooper rally to defeat South Oldham, 49-28, in the Class 5A playoffs Friday at South Oldham.

   The Jaguars trailed, 28-27, before Collins ran in touchdowns of 1 and 36 yards.  Senior Ricky Martin added a 27 yard interception return to finish off Cooper’s fourth-quarter outburst.
   
   Senior quarterback Tyler Morris completed 7 of 11 passes for 149 yards and ran 14 times for 64 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown that capped a 99-yard drive two seconds before halftime.

   The Jaguars, who gained the school’s first playoff win last week, will travel to play Franklin County next week.

   WALTON-VERONA 33, LLOYD 26 – The Juggernauts threw a pair of incompletions, stalling their final drive at the Bearcats’ 45 with 12 seconds remaining.

   Walton-Verona took a seven-point lead with 1:33 remaining when senior defensive lineman Cole Mosier recorded a sack in the end zone, but the Bearcats fumbled at the Lloyd 27 with 42 seconds left.

   Senior quarterback Dexter Smith completed a pair of passes to get Lloyd to midfield before the team turned the ball over on downs.

   Sophomore running back Will Latimore rushed 12 times for 132 yards and a touchdown to lead Walton-Verona, and he also caught three passes for 63 yards and another TD.

   Junior running back Chris Latimore added 71 ground yards on 11 carries, and sophomore fullback Mason Compton ran in a pair of scores.

   Smith finished 14-for-27 for 174 yards and four touchdowns for the Juggernauts, and senior Tomi Mejolagbe caught five passes for 51 yards, including a pair of TDs and a two-point conversion.

   Mosier finished with four solo tackles and six assist to pace the Walton-Verona defense, including a pair of sacks and four tackles for loss.

   FRANKLIN COUNTY 62, CONNER 59 – Franklin County scored three touchdowns in the final three minutes of the first half to overcome an early, 30-13 lead by the Cougars.

   Junior Lorenzo McCaskell keyed the second-quarter scoring flurry with a 31-yard return of a fumble, one of three turnovers by Conner in the game.

   Conner regained the lead, 37-34, with a 21-yard run by junior Jesse McKeehan in the third quarter, but McCaskell caught a 27-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Logan Woodside to put the Flyers back ahead, 41-37, and senior Ryan Timmons added to the lead with a 33-yard touchdown run.

   The Cougars were unable to catch up despite three fourth-quarter touchdowns, two on passes by junior Drew Barker and the other on a run by Barker.

   Barker completed 16 of 20 passes for 291 yards with three touchdown passes in the game and ran 25 times for 97 yards and a score.

   Senior Cameron Fogle had 275 yards of offense, rushing 13 times for 131 yards and two scores and catching nine passes for 144 yards and one touchdown.  McKeehan added 90 rushing yards on 13 carries and 87 receiving yards on three catches.

   Conner finished with 609 total yards to 489 for the Flyers.  

   Ryan Timmons led Franklin County with 189 rushing yards on 14 carries, scoring four touchdowns.

   HIGHLANDS 52, ASHLAND BLAZER 13 – The Bluebirds scored the final 44 points of the game,

including 36 in the second half, to overcome a slow start against the Tomcats.

   Ashland Blazer took advantage of three first-half turnovers to build a 13-8 lead after senior running back Evan Yongue ran 66 yards for a touchdown two plays after a Highlands fumble.

   Senior quarterback Donovan McCoy ran in a 4-yard touchdown and a two-point conversion to put Highlands back ahead, 16-13, by halftime and the Bluebirds scored five touchdowns while holding Blazer to 64 yards in the second half.

   Highlands outgained Blazer, 498 yards to 264 for the game.  

   McCoy led Highlands with 225 passing yards, completing 12 of 19 passes, and 132 yards on nine carries.  

   Junior running back Zach Harris added three touchdowns, two rushing and one receiving.

   COVINGTON CATHOLIC 45, JOHNSON CENTRAL 15 – Senior quarterback Blake Bir threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more to lead the Colonels.

   Bir completed 15 of 23 passes for 287 yards and ran five times for 76 yards.  Senior receiver Etan Egbers caught five of Bir’s passes for 101 yards.
   
   The Colonels gained 519 yards in all to 180 for the Golden Eagles.
   
   Johnson Central gained all its yards on the ground as the Golden Eagles were 0-for-5 passing.
   
    Senior defensive lineman Dan Hellman led the CovCath defense with 12 tackles.

   BEECHWOOD 63, PARIS 16 – Freshman quarterback Kyle Fieger followed up on last week’s break-out performance by completing six of eight passes for 163 yards and three touchdowns.

   Senior Chris Lightner scored touchdowns on both of his receptions, which totaled 98 yards.

   Senior running back Max Nussbaum added 94 yards on 15 carries, scoring three touchdowns.

   The Tigers will host Frankfort next week.

   FRANKFORT 26, BELLEVUE 0 – Senior quarterback Chris Hawkins threw three touchdown passes, two to senior Aaron Jackson, to lead the Panthers past the Tigers.

   Hawkins completed 9 of 17 passes in the game for 194 yards.

   Senior running back Teantre McGee added 104 rushing yards, including a 71-yard run that started the scoring in the first quarter.

   Bellevue ran for 195 yards, including 71 yards on 14 carries by senior Cameron Pangallo, but lost three fumbles and had one pass picked off.
