Gasoline prices in Kentucky seesawed up 6.4 cents per gallon over the past week to an average of $3.70 per gallon to start the week, according to the gallon price website KentuckyGasPrices.com .
That was after beginning the previous week 6 cents per gallon lower at $3.64 per gallon.
The price for a gallon of self service regular stood 9.2 cents lower than a month ago but 40.1 cents per gallon higher than a year ago, according to the website. Reported gas prices in Northern Kentucky ranged from $3.69 per gallon to $3.77 per gallon while the average price at the pump in Cincinnati rang up at $3.76 per gallon to start the week.
The up one week, down the next price trend may stick for awhile, according to Patrick DeHaan, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy.com.
“I expect a mixed bag, with prices not moving significantly in either direction from what I can see at this time," DeHaan said.
